Senior Syndicate Festival Choir

Over the last 3 terms the senior choir have been practising for the big night. They performed in Auckland wonderful Town Hall! The Town Hall is famous for it's amount of seat as well as the huge pipe organ. We sang over 10 songs, it was hard work but we managed to do it!
A Sunnybrae ex pupil Ray Ong played the violin in front of the audience. He got a scholarship of 1,000 dollars to pay for lessons and equipment. All of the girls from room 11 are in choir.
Over all the senior coir did really well and was extremely magnificent.
Oh we forgot to say that Mrs Blair and Mrs Stewart were the Rayletts.
Thanks for all you did choir trainers.

Mini Olympics

Sunnybrae school has been keeping the Olympic spirit alive by having their own Mini Olympics.
Everyone had lots of fun doing track events, basketball, hockey, javelin and shot put in a bucket.
From 1:00 pm - 2:45 pm Sunnybrae school was taking part in our very own Olympics.
We had an oath read out by Dominique Cantin from Room 11, we had the flame carried around the senior court by Fine Inise. The boys Kapahaka group came out to the front and started to help sing the national anthem with the other 20 countries.
The teams marched around the senior court in time with the marching music. Then it was time to go to our chosen activities. Four teams went to one of the chosen activities.
Some seniors helped with the activities and got quite good at explaining how to play.
The teachers took photos throughout the whole afternoon.
At the end of the day three countries were selected to get bronze, silver or gold certificates. Bronze went to Korea, silver went to Australia and gold went to India.
Also the juniors had their own Olympics.

Christina's Feelings Poem

RACING ENERGETICALLY ALONG THE BUMPY TRACK.

UNBELIEVABLE ! THE RACE HAS ALREADY STARTED.

NAUSEOUSLY SNEAKING IN FRONT OF THE OTHER RUNNERS.

NOISY NATIONAL CROWD CHEERING FOR ME.

ISOLATED FROM THE RUNNERS I’M PASSING.

NEARING THE RIBBON AT THE FINISH LINE.

GRABBING THE NEW ZEALAND FLAG AND RUNNING EXCITEDLY AROUND THE TRACK.

Without Hope.

Somebody screamed, "It's broken !"
Everybody was hanging upside down. I was scared, even terrified. All the blood was rushing to my head. Their hair looked like a hair dryer was blowing it. The only way to get out of my seat was to fall out and land on a spiky train ride.
I knew there was no hope.
