Basketball Acrostic Poem

BUZZING SOUNDS FILL MY HEAD AS I SLOWLY WALK ONTO THE COURT
ASTONISHED TO SEE MY FRIEND IN THE OTHER TEAM
SINISTER LOOKS ON THE FACES OF OUR OPPONENTS
KEEN TO TAKE HOME THE GOLD
EXHAUSTED FROM HARD RUNNING
TEAM HOLDING TOGETHER FOR THE LAST FEW MINUTES
BALL FLIES INTO THE HOOP AT THE BUZZER
AMAZED BY THE SHOT WE JUMP TRIUMPHANTLY
LEAVING THE STADIUM IN EXCITEMENT
LEAPING ON THE COUCH AFTER A HARD BASKETBALL GAME

Olympics

Counting down - 16 days to go. Patience growing thin. How long will we last, before we break out and go mad with the excitement of swimming, biking, athletics, gymnastics, hockey and many other sports. What's next for our young competitive athletes? I know, Beijing, which is where this years Olympics will be held.

Danger!

Flop. I felt the cold hard cement as the gravel crept into my mouth. I felt weak as the cars sped past me. The hope that once filled my heart had vanished. My eyelids got heavier and heavier. My eyes were closing. I heard a horrid sound as I lifted my head to investigate. A car was right before me. I screamed but nothing came out. Hope would not be my saviour.
